Compare the C-Class vs. E-Class in-depth to find the sedan with everything you need!

What’s the Difference Between C-Class and E-Class Sedans?

Not sure where to start? Here’s a basic overview of the difference between C-Class and E-Class models in 2020:

Price: C-Class vs. E-Class

  • The new C-Class starts at $41,400 MSRP*. For the range-topping AMG® C 63 S Sedan, you can expect to pay around $74,600 MSRP*.
  • For the new E-Class, pricing begins at $54,050* MSRP. The AMG® E 63 S Sedan is available for $106,350 MSRP*.

Trim Levels and Body Styles: C-Class vs. E-Class

  • The C-Class Sedan can be had in two basic configurations, with or without 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. Three AMG® C-Class sedans are also available.
  • With the E-Class, you can upgrade 4MATIC® AWD, and choose between the E 350 and E 450 configurations. Two AMG® E-Class sedans build on the capabilities of the E 450.
  • Both the C-Class and E-Class are available not only as sedans, but also as coupes and cabriolets! The E-Class alone is also offered in a stylish wagon build.

Performance: Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. E-Class

When you choose a Mercedes-Benz sedan, you’re sure to love how you feel behind the wheel. Although the E-Class has, in years past, started with a less powerful engine, the new year sees each sedan with the same starting equipment:

  • Standard 2.0-Liter Turbocharged Inline 4-Cylinder Engine
    • 255 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque for both the C-Class and E-Class
    • EPA-Estimated Fuel Economy (C-Class) – 24 mpg city, 35 mpg highway
    • EPA-Estimated Fuel Economy (E-Class) – 23 mpg city, 32 mpg highway

One major difference between the C-Class and the E-Class consists in the engine options that they offer as upgrades!

  • You’ll need to upgrade with an AMG® model in order to get a stronger engine in the C-Class. In this range, you’ll have access to a 385-hp biturbo® V6, a 469-hp AMG® biturbo® V8, and a 503-hp AMG® biturbo® V8.
  • The E-Class lineup includes the E 450, which has been equipped with a 362-hp biturbo®. Upgrade with the AMG® lineup for a 429-hp Inline-6 with an electric auxiliary compressor, or a 603-hp AMG® biturbo® V8.

Interior Features: Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. E-Class

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class interior and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class interior both offer all of the available features you’ll need to revolutionize your Cleveland and Lakewood drives.  However, with the higher starting price of the E-Class, you’ll receive more of your favorite amenities as standard. Here’s what to expect from each model: 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Interior
