HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT EV CHARGING STATION LOCATION

If you’ve never owned an electric vehicle before, getting up to speed with the new technologies and the new terminology can prove to be somewhat challenging—but it doesn’t have to be this way. Mercedes-Benz of Bedford wants to demystify EV ownership, and we can help you find EV charging stations that meet your precise needs. Here’s what every driver should understand:

• Electric vehicles can be charged at home using Level 1 or Level 2 charging. At-home Level 2 charging is significantly faster than the basic Level 1 option, but you’ll still need more than a few hours to reach a full charge.
• There are also public Level 2 charging stations. These will display on the ChargeHub map seen above. Public Level 2 charging is a great choice if you need to top off after the day’s commute or you have a little bit of time to kill.
• Level 3 charging—also known as DC Fast Charging—is the option of choice for drivers who have no time to waste. Whether you’ve depleted your battery while out and about or you’re traveling through the area on a road trip, Level 3 charging can help you restore significant amounts of power in an hour or less.
