Mercedes-Benz E-Class named MotorTrend 2025 Car of the Year

The brilliantly designed and engineered Mercedes-Benz E-Class has long been a leader among midsize luxury sedans, and it has recently been updated with meaningful changes throughout. In 2025, it is recognized for its excellence with MotorTrend’s 2025 Car of the Year award. It previously received the award in 1996 and 2021. This coveted award is the highest honor bestowed by MotorTrend.

The 2025 E-Class shows off a modern, rich design and is offered in both sedan and all-terrain styles. Speaking about the award, Mercedes-Benz President and CEO Dimitris Psillakis attributed the recognition and honor to the E-Class’s heritage, technological advancements, and premium design. Some of the updates introduced in the 2025 model year are a refreshed paint palette, updated safety features, and a new engine in the base trim level.

The MotorTrend Car of the Year award is based on six criteria. Both guest judges and editors examine vehicles in the areas of performance, efficiency, safety, engineering excellence, value and design.
